The ability to listen more than you talk
Why is it important: It is important to be able to listen to other people’s ideas and plans. You don’t know everything and you don’t always have the best way to get things done. By learning to listen more than you talk you are able to make people feel valued and learn new things along the way
What will you do short term: I will invite a friend out for coffee once a week and talk with them. I will n let them talk mostly and I will keep the focus on them instead of me.
What will you do long term: I will try to practice this with more than one person. I will in conversations more often than not listen to others and consciously try keep the focus off of me.
How will I measure the success: if I can count at least 3 times in a day where I was not the focus of the conversation but instead I was listening intently to the other person(s)
Who will help me with this: My best friend Kailyn, and various other people I run into over the course of the day.
